Politicians can make wishes.

Mark Carney and David Eby can fast track permits, repeal their own climate policies and offer new subsidies for oil and gas.

But unless the federal government wants to pay $40 or 50 billion for a whole new pipeline, it’s up to banks and international billionaires to decide if they want to risk the money.

And when it comes to both LNG and heavy oil projects in western Canada, investors have good reason to be cautious.

On-the-ground resistance to new pipelines has never gone away. And a rapid shift to renewable energy in Asia means demand is starting to crumble.

We’re working every day to amplify those risks, and expose who really stands to profit from resource extraction in our province – like Donald Trump’s inner circle of creepy billionaires.

Last week, 44 Dogwood News readers chipped in $3,120 to fight back against Wall Street greed, and get us ready to respond to big moments coming soon. Like the approval of Ksi Lisims LNG.

That’s one third of the $10K goal we set for this month’s special fundraiser.

If you donated last week, THANK YOU. If you didn’t, I’m asking you now if you will please support our work: join the 44 generous folks who’ve already given.

Sooner or later, a tipping point is coming. Every month that we can hold off construction on new oil and gas pipelines, more solar panels and wind turbines roll off assembly lines.

Every conversation, every vote, every protest, signature, phone call and dollar right now matters. Thank you.
